One of the best running jokes in sports cards happened during the pandemic:
“Throw away the card, keep the toploader.”
Demand increased so fast during that crazy time that everyone was sold out and prices jumped. I remember subscribing to various supply companies to get notified when toploaders were back in stock.
I even once bought cheap knock-offs on eBay that were all sealed shut on top!
